2016 – Daniel Bernard Roumain

Daniel Bernard Roumain

NHSO’s Artist-In-Residence: May 2-13, 2016

Daniel Bernard Roumain

Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) returns after his 2013 residency with the Symphony, where he performed 16 concerts in seven cities with over 12,000 students participating in residency events.  Through Classics Series appearances, Young People’s Concerts, Community Concerts, in-school residencies, workshop, lectures, and assemblies, DBR left his mark on the Greater New Haven community and inspired all of us along the way.

In early May 2016, DBR will again serve as Artist-in-Residence with your New Haven Symphony Orchestra.  Roumain will move Connecticut audiences with his innovative music, inventive playing, compassionate teaching, and powerful techniques for keeping classical music relevant in the 21st century.

Besides hosting our annual Young People’s Concerts that will be performed in five cities across the state, DBR will also be visiting area schools, providing instruction to several after-school music programs, and working with music teachers on creative new teaching methodologies. Check back here as more details emerge over the coming months!
