These programs are designed for students ages 8-11\, and they are free and open to the public this year at venues in New Haven and Shelton. \nAt this concert\, you will hear all of the different\, amazing sounds an orchestra can make\, from historic composers like Felix Mendelssohn and Giacomo Rossini\, up to living composers of today\, like Jessie Montgomery and Gabriella Lena Frank.  \nRegister for Tickets\nThe Music\nGiacomo Rossini Overture to Barber of Seville\nJessie Montgomery Starburst\nBela Bartok Romanian Dances\nGabriella Lena Frank Leyandes: An Andean Walkabout (VI. Coqueteos)\nFelix Mendelssohn Midsummer Night’s Dream (Scherzo)\nSergei Prokofiev Symphony No. 1 (IV) \nThe Performers\nNew Haven Symphony Orchestra\nAlasdair Neale\, conductor & music director \nTickets\n\nYou must register for your free tickets through the Symphony’s Box Office. You can register online using the button below or call (203) 787-4282 Monday-Friday from 12-5pm. For larger parties\, please call so the box office can sit your group together without “distance” seats in between your party members. \nRegister for Tickets\nThis program has additional performances. DESCRIPTION:Join renowned hip-hop violinist and NHSO Artist-in-Residence Daniel Bernard Roumain as he returns to the YPC stage to combine forces with the NHSO for the third time! Your students will take a trip through music history\, listening to Bach\, Mozart\, Beethoven\, Brahms\, and DBR’s own pieces. This is one of our highest-rated YPC programs in our 87-year history – you won’t want to miss it! \n \nStudent Tickets: $7\nChaperone Tickets: FREE! \nNHSO musicians are available to visit your classrooms to prep your students before attending the concert. ($185/90 minutes\, broken down into 2 45-minute presentations). To book a prep\, contact the Education Department at Education@NewHavenSymphony.org. \nScholarships are available.
