    Join the New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) when its Third Annual Family Concert Series presents The Big Bang Theory, Saturday, October 10th, 2:00-3:00pm, Omni Hotel Ballroom, New Haven. This performance is sure to rattle your bones and lull you to sleep with a vast collection of instruments, rhythms, and cultural traditions from around the world. Special guest artists include Aly and Seny Camara, a father and son drum and dance duo from Guinea West Africa, and Korean master musician and composer Jin Hi Kim. Listen, feel, move, and rejoice with The Big Bang Theory!

  • The New Haven Symphony Orchestra Enchants with Ritual Incantations

    Join the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and Music Director William Boughton for an exciting concert of diverse pieces on Thursday, October 15, at 7:30pm, at Woolsey Hall. Cellist virtuoso Mihai Marica will grace the stage as soloist for Augusta Read Thomas’ Ritual Incantations. Also on the program: the exciting NHSO commission of Jin Hi Kim’s composition for electric komungo and percussion, titled NORI III, Mozart’s Symphony No. 32 in G Major, K318 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op 92, a composition of resounding significance, written in the war-ridden year of 1812. Preview Performance: Tuesday, October 13, 7:00pm, Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, Sacred Heart University.

  • Internationally Renowned Violinist to Give Master Class at Guilford Recreation Center

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) is pleased to announce a master class by internationally renowned violinist Kurt Nikkanen, Sunday, September 13, 2:00pm at the Guilford Recreation Center in Guilford, CT. The event is free and open to the public. The master class will feature students of NHSO violinists Judi McDermott-Eggert, Artemis Simerson and Stephan Tieszen, all of whom who have teaching studios on the Connecticut Shoreline.
