NHSO Seeks Holiday Gift

Tuesday • December 14, 2010

New Haven, CT December 14, 2010: The NHSO is looking for a few special individuals to help make music a part of the lives of children throughout the region in the New Year. By recruiting additional supporters to donate $50 before December 31, the NHSO has the opportunity to qualify for a gift between $5,000-$10,000 from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s online giving portal giveGreater.org. giveGreater.org enables donors to learn about, connect with, and give to nonprofits 24/7.

The NHSO strives to open a world of new possibilities for local young people by providing them with life-changing opportunities such as conducting an orchestra, attending masterclasses, and experiencing new music. Family concerts, youth programs, and school visits inspire youth and insure the future of classical music in the community. The orchestra’s education programs extend to seven out of eight counties in Connecticut, and will reach over 30,000 children in nearly 130 schools this season.

It is possible for donors to give $50 in the name of each member of their staff or family. Donors should enter each $50 donation separately to maximize the NHSO’s chances of winning a giveGreater.org grant. If we are successful in meeting the “Challenge” the value of your gift will be doubled.

To donate now visit www.giveGreater.org and search “New Haven Symphony Orchestra.”

Through its live performances of classical music and educational programs, the New Haven Symphony Orchestra aspires to exceed expectations, unite communities, challenge, delight, and inspire. We change lives, for the better. Visit our website www.NewHavenSymphony.org for more information.
