New Haven, CT February 18, 2009: Celebrate one of music’s most beloved icons, Ol’ Blue Eyes himself, Frank Sinatra, when Associate Conductor Gerald Steichen and the New Haven Symphony Orchestra POPS! presents Simply Sinatra, Friday, March 6, 7:30pm at the Shubert Theater, with a repeat performance, Sunday, March 8, 3:00pm at Shelton Intermediate School.

This must attend event of the concert season features Connecticut native, Steve Lippia performing Sinatra favorites, The Best is Yet to Come, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Luck Be a Lady, and My Way.

Vocalist Steve Lippia, is much in demand as an interpreter of traditional pop music and jazz standards. His shows introduce a new generation to timeless popular music, while appealing to long-time listeners. Steve has headlined to packed houses at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. He has performed repeated engagements for Hilton Atlantic City and Casino Windsor, among others. He appeared at Birdland, the legendary jazz club in New York City, backed by the Nelson Riddle and Woody Herman Orchestras. Steve has recorded a collection of songs backed by a 41-piece orchestra and a collection of live performances.

Don your fedora and join us for the party of the year, Simply Sinatra—A Soiree, preceding the March 6 Shubert Theater performance, at 5:30-7:30pm, bespoke Restaurant, featuring cocktails, light fare, and a Sinatra-themed silent auction. Silent auction items include an authentic signed print by Frank Sinatra, a men’s three-piece suit valued at $1,000, and gift certificates to Sinatra’s favorite New York City hotspots. A special prize will go to the best Sinatra look-a-like.
