About the Performers
An accomplished singer and performer, Cathy Maguire began her career as a successful child star in Ireland. Upon coming of age and graduating with a BA Hons Degree in Ethnomusicology, she moved to Nashville, Tn where she was mentored as a songwriter by some of Nashville’s finest writers, artists and producers. A record deal with Celtic Collections (Clannad, Celtic Woman, The High Kings) followed and resulted in the release of her critically acclaimed album ‘Portrait’ in 2010.After a two year departure from the music business, she signed a deal with long time mentor and world renowned producer Cowboy Jack Clement (Johnny Cash, U2, Louis Armstrong, Waylong Jennings, Jerry Lee Lewis). She is currently in Nashville finishing the album at the Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa. In 2013 she debuted of her TV show, Ireland In Song, on PBS in which she traveled to Ireland to visit the birthplace of the most famous Irish songs and she released the album Ireland In Song. Maguire has toured extensively and has opened for internationally known artists such as Martina Mc Bride, Randy Travis and the High Kings.
