The musicians and Board of Directors of the NHSO are pleased to announce the ratification of a new 3-year Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The terms of the agreement assure the full orchestra of outstanding professional musicians will continue to grace the stage of Woolsey Hall in the years to come. The contract ensures the commitment of the NHSO to provide run-out concerts throughout the State, the Pops Series as well as Education Programs and Community Engagements.
“Following sixteen months of negotiation, we were able to ensure the artistic integrity of America’s fourth oldest symphony orchestra,” said Marjorie Shansky Orchestra Committee Chair. “The members of the NHSO owe a debt of gratitude to Local 400, American Federation of Musicians, whose support was key to the success of the negotiation. We look forward to continuing our work with the leadership of the NHSO to identify innovative ways to remain engaged in the community.”
Board President Burton Alter added, “The Board of Directors and administration are delighted to have come to agreement. The musicians are dedicated professionals and the NHSO is thrilled to continue to provide world-class orchestral music to New Haven and its surrounding communities.
