New Haven, CT (May 1, 2014): The New Haven Symphony Orchestra’s Family Concert brings the magic of storytelling to life with Peter & The Wolf. Saturday, May 11, 3:00pm at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook. Tickets are on sale now at www.katharinehepburntheater.org ($16 adults, $10 children under 12).
The NHSO Woodwind Quintet introduces children to their instruments with Sergei Prokofiev’s timeless classic Peter and the Wolf. Hosted and narrated by Yale University’s Director of Bands, Tom Duffy, this 60-minute afternoon concert will delight children of all ages. Other selections include a musical telling of the famous story Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, set to music by Mr. Duffy, and a special swingin’ version of Edvard Grieg’s In The Hall of the Mountain King.
