The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) will celebrate 130 years of artistry, education, history and innovation at its gala fundraiser “Melodies & Mimosas” on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at The WoodWinds in Branford, CT. The festive event will include a decadent brunch, bottomless mimosas, live music, a raffle, and more. The orchestra will present the 2024 Wattles and Quartet awards to community partners and heroes:
- 2024 Wattles Award: NHSO Board President Keith B. Churchwell, MD
- Artistic Excellence: Former NHSO Concertmaster Ani Kavafian
- Educational Excellence: Leadership Training and Scholarship Fund New Haven Promise
- Historical Impact: Free Youth Enrichment Program ARTE
- Excellence in Innovation: Community Organizer and Advocate Honda Smith
“We are excited to raise a glass and celebrate the music, musicians, educators, and change-makers that enrich our vibrant community,” says NHSO CEO Elaine C.
