Jerry Steichen will dish backstage gossip from the piano as soprano Amy Mahoney and baritone Greg Mills belt tunes in this musical revue of songs from boy-meets-girl Broadway musicals like Carousel, On the Town, and Kiss Me, Kate as well as contemporary favorites from Beauty and the Beast, The Last Five Years, and City of Angels.

The 2011-12 season marks GERALD STEICHEN’s 15th season as Conductor of the NHSO Pops! In September 2011, Steichen was named Principal Pops Conductor. He also serves as Music Director of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra and the Principal Pops Conductor of the Utah Symphony. Steichen is a frequent guest conductor for symphonies throughout the world. Onstage, he has performed as a pianist for the New York City Opera’s acclaimed productions of Porgy and Bess and Carmina Burana. On Broadway he portrayed the Accompanist in the Tony-Award-winning Master Class. He toured nationally as the Associate Conductor with The Phantom of the Opera and The Secret Garden, played keyboards for Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan, and conducted CATS in New York, leading the final public performance.
AMY MAHONEY was recently featured in worldwide television broadcasts as the soprano soloist in The Birth of Christ, an oratorio filmed at Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, and narrated by Liam Neeson. The current season includes performances in Die Zauberflöte and Carmen. She made her New York debut playing the lead role in an off-Broadway production of Jerome Kern’s Oh, Lady! Lady! with Musicals Tonight, and was seen on Live from Lincoln Center performing with the New York Philharmonic in Camelot starring Gabriel Byrne and Marin Mazzie. Other recent engagements include Le nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, and Petite Messe Solennelle with the Michael O’Neal Singers.
This season GREG MILLS’ Broadway performances include The Woman in White and, currently, The Phantom of the Opera. Off-Broadway he appeared in After the Ball at Irish Rep. and Transport at The Irish Arts Center and joined National Tours for leading roles in The Phantom of the Opera, and Big. Greg has also performed in concert, on Broadway, with Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore, as well as several international concerts.
