New Haven, CT (February 25, 2014): The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) today announced a generous sponsorship from Evergreen Woods, a vibrant living retirement community located on 88 acres in North Branford, in support of their upcoming concert, The Huntsmen of Wagner, Strauss & Beethoven.
This performance, a concert of the NHSO’s 120th anniversary season, will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Woolsey Hall in New Haven. The program celebrates the summit of German romanticism with Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 2, and NY Philharmonic hornist Leelanee Sterrett performing Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6.

They not only provide support for NHSO concerts, but underwrite the cost of comfortable seat cushions which are provided to Symphony audiences free of charge at Woolsey Hall. Their convenient shuttle bus provides easy access to Symphony concerts for all Evergreen Woods residents.
“We are grateful to Evergreen Woods for their continuing support of the New Haven Symphony,” says Executive Director Elaine C. Carroll, “their generosity will help us bring exciting symphonic music to the New Haven community. Their support of the arts in our community makes New Haven a more vibrant place to live.”
