The NHSO 2012 Gala—Wolfgang and Constanze Mozart’s Anniversary Party—set amid the hills of Vienna—promises an affair as memorable as the one between classical music’s supercouple (today’s Brangelina if you will). Join us, Saturday, March 10 at 6:00pm, when Yale Divinity School’s Old Refectory is transformed into a Viennese court. Guests will be welcomed by Wolfgang, Constanze, and Papa Leopold while NHSO musicians serenade them at the royal court. Once inside, an evening of sumptuous cuisine, live music, and silent auction awaits. The 2012 Gala is generously supported by NewAlliance Foundation, First Niagara Bank, Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Reid & Riege, People’s United Bank, and Whitney Center.
This spectacular fundraiser helps support the NHSO’s artistic and award-winning programs. Honorary chairs are long-time Symphony supporters Christopher and Toddie Getman, who have helped design a stunning evening. Guests will enter the royal court and enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Throughout the dinner, Wolfi (Jeremy Funke of Elm City Shakespeare), Stanzi (Kelly Hill of Yale Opera) and Leopold (Tom Griggs of Yale-New Haven Hospital) will entertain guests. Stanzi will perform arias for her love, accompanied by the fine musicians of the NHSO. Dinner features a delectable menu including pasta and carving stations and lots of decadent desserts.
An annual favorite, the silent auction is always chock full of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, travel packages and other exclusive items, including a three-night stay plus two rounds of golf for two at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, passes to the Travelers Championship paired with a foursome of golf at The Yale Golf Course, a chance to walk Yale University’s mascot Handsome Dan at a Yale football game, and a Best of New Haven Theatre package featuring tickets to exciting shows at Yale Repertory Theatre, Shubert Theater and Long Wharf Theatre.
For this grand evening, tickets start at $100. Benefactor tickets ($200) include program listing, premium seating, and valet parking. For reservations contact Aric Isaacs at 203.865.0831 x10 or aissacs@NewHavenSymphony.org
