New Haven, CT (April 28, 2014): The Board of Directors of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) is pleased to announce that Norwich native Donna Bellantone has joined the staff as Development Director.
Bellantone will lead the Symphony’s Development department in its efforts to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies to aid in the funding of the NHSO’s season, outreach programs, educational initiatives and day-to-day operations.
Bellantone brings over two decades of non-profit experience to the Symphony, beginning in the Education and Interpretation departments at Mystic Seaport, and then working for eleven years in the Development Department. She served for five years as the Director of Development where she oversaw annual, foundation, and government giving as well as special events. Bellantone holds a B.A. from Connecticut College.
“I look forward to working with Executive Director Elaine Carroll, the staff, musicians, volunteers, and many friends of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra to expand and strengthen the fundraising efforts,” says Bellantone, “I am eager to build upon 120 years of tradition, commitment and optimism. This is an exciting time for the Symphony.”
NHSO Board Development Chair James T. Morley noted, “As the Symphony continues to provide a wide variety of programming, as well as new initiatives for the future, Donna’s broad range of skills and experience will help to implement the Symphony’s mission in the years ahead.”
