Elm City LIT Fest: Through the Lens of Baldwin

Learn more about the life and legacy of James Baldwin, inspiration for NHSO Composer-in-Residence Joel Thompson’s piece, “To Awaken the Sleeper”, which the NHSO will perform on October 23.

Elm City LIT Fest is an annual celebration of books, LITerature, LITerary Arts, and LITerary Artists with the purpose of enhancing LITeracy while promoting awareness of local, regional, and global artists of the African Diaspora. Learn more at ElmcityLITFest.com.

As part of the Festival’s full day of programming, NHSO Composer-in-Residence Joel Thompson will be a featured guest for “Through the Lens of Baldwin” at 12:45pm on the indoor stage at Stetson Library in the Dixwell Community Q House. The conversation will be hosted by Nyzae James, owner of BAMN Books.
