  • NHSO Performs Lyricism & Longing

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) continues its 120th season with a thrilling concert experience!  Music Director William Boughton conducts Lyricism & Longing on Thursday, November 7 at 7:30pm at Woolsey Hall in New Haven.  The Symphony will perform Samuel Barber’s aching Adagio for Strings and works by William Walton, the Yale Glee Club will join the Orchestra for selections from Charles Ives, and Concertmaster Ani Kavafian will take on Vaughan Williams’ soaring Lark Ascending.

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) congratulates Music Director William Boughton, who will be celebrated by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce for his accomplishments as an Alumnus of the Leadership Center. 

  • The Great American Songbook, with Tony Award Winner Debbie Gravitte

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) opens its 2013-14 Pops Series with The Great American Songbook, with Tony-Award winner Debbie Gravitte and acclaimed Broadway conductor Todd Ellison.  Saturday, October 19 at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium at Hamden Middle School, and Sunday, October 20 at 3:00pm at Shelton Intermediate School. 

  • NHSO Opens 120th Season with Tchaikovsky Triumphant

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) open its 120th season with a spectacular concert experience!  Music Director William Boughton conducts Tchaikovsky Triumphant on Thursday, October 3 at 7:30pm at Woolsey Hall in New Haven.  The program includes Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto performed by 19 year-old rock-star violinist Chad Hoopes, and Theofanidis’s Rex Tremendae Majestatis performed by the NHSO and Thomas Murray on Woolsey Hall’s awe-inspiring organ.

    The New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) today announced a generous sponsorship from the First Niagara Foundation (First Niagara) in support of their School Night at the Symphony program.

  • Music on the Green Moves Indoors to Shubert Theater

    As a result of the recent heat wave, the location of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) performance of Dueling Divas, part of Music on the Green presented by Yale-New Haven Hospital, scheduled for Saturday, July 20, 2013 will be changed from the New Haven Green to the Shubert Theater, located on 247 College Street in downtown New Haven, CT.
